He was born Feb 6, 1920 in Crosby, a son of John L. and Lydia Grantier Raszmann. On November 23, 1947, in Farmers Valley, he married Betty Alice Sherwood, who survives.
Mr. Raszmann was a graduate of Colegrove High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946, during WW II. He received the Purple Heart for being wounded.
He was employed as a Roustabout by South Penn Oil, Bradford, PA, in the areas oil fields.
He was an active member of the Crosby United Methodist Church, the Norwich Grange, was a member of the Elderberries at the Smethport Senior Center, belonged to the American Legion; John Berg Post #976 of Crosby, and had played in a band with his brothers, Fred and Paul, for many years. He also was former caretaker of the Norwich Cemetery in Colegrove, PA.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Susan Work and Tena Emerson; sons: Tony Steven Raszmann, Kenneth James Raszmann, Fredrick Henry Raszmann, Troy Lewis Raszmann;
18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother: Paul Raszmann; and several nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, 1 sister, and a son-in-law.
Burial will be in Norwich Cemetery, Colegrove.
