A resident of Picayune, Miss., and a native of Loranger, was 83 and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survived by his wife, Lucinda Hinman Hinkson, Picayune; three daughters, Florence Wilkie, Harvey, Carol Spence, Sulphur, and Sonia Bidwell, Hammond; two sons, Paul Hinkson, Ponchatoula, and David Hinkson, Greenwell Springs; a sister, Frances Marcotte, Park Falls, Wis.; a brother, James "Jake" Bollinger, Watson; three stepdaughters, Linda Buras, Mandeville, Judy Still, Topeka, Kan., and Barbara Laird, Folsom; a stepson, Tommy Reed, Slidell; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Champlin Hinkson; a brother, Elmer Hinkson; an infant sister; and parents, George and Myrtle Tycer Hinkson.
He was a retired Hammond postmaster. He was a member of American Legion Post 73 and a member of Loranger United Methodist Church and Chapel in the Pines, Picayune.
