Mrs. Minnie Thomas Of Bevier Dies; Funeral Tomorrow
Mrs. Minnie Gilstrap Thomas, 78, of Bevier died yesterday afternoon at the Samaritan Hospital here, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Edwards Funeral Home in Bevier, conducted by the Rev. Lester L. McKeeman of Macon, and burial will be in East Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Thomas, daughter of George and Elizabeth Grimes Gilstrap, was born in Bevier July 28, 1878, and was a lifelong resident of Bevier. She was married to Elmer Thomas Feb. 3, 1896, and to their union three children were born. A daughter, Mrs Hazel Barnes, Moberly, has preceded her mother in death and two children died in infancy. Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Bevier Christian Church, which she joined when a young woman. She is survived by her husband of the home; one brother, Robert Gilstrap of Bevier; one grandson, Elmer Bottorff of Vernice, Calif., whom Mr. and Mrs. Thomas reared from the age of one year; and two step-great grandchildren. The body will lie in state at the Funeral Home until the hour of services.
