Funeral services for Beulah L. Banta, Postmaster of Berryman, Mo. were held Wednesday, November 11, 1981, 1 p.m. in the Halbert-Stuart Funeral Chapel, Steelville, Rev. Oliver D. Shoults and Rev. Joel Taylor officiated. Committal prayers and interment were held in the Berryman Cemetery under the direction of Halbert-Stuart Funeral Home. Casketbeaters were Charles Hill, Don Monroe, Bill and Luther Bouse, Lee and Tom Hudson.
Beulah L. Banta was born to the union of the late James and Rhoda (Crump) Hudson on May 3, 1911 at Berryman, Mo. Mrs. Banta passed away after a long battle with cancer on November 6, 1981 in the Missouri Baptist Hospital. She was 70 years old.
Mrs. Banta was united in marriage to the late Glen Banta on February 8, 1942 at Berryman, Mo., and to their union 2 sons were born. Mrs. Banta was a school teacher in the Potosi area and Berryman Community for many years. After the death of her husband she became the Postmaster of Berryman and was serving in that position until her passing.
Survivors include her two dear sons, John Banta of Glendale, Arizona and Thomas G. Banta of Berryman, Mo., her daughter-in-law Judy and 2 grandchildren, John, Jr. and Susan Banta, all of Glendale, Arizona; a brother and sister-in-law, Rolla and Nola Hudson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
