LONG TIME RESIDENT OF BROOKLYN PASSES AWAY
Julius Billick, long time resident of Brooklyn, died Sunday, July 22, 1934, at his home where he had spent more than 50 years of his life. He was the last of a family of 11 children.
He was the son of William and Sarah Billick and was born August 25, 1946, in Winnebago county, Illinois. He came to Brooklyn in 1865 and has lived here in east Brooklyn ever since.
On December 26, 1868, he was united in marriage to Miss Lavina Norris, who passed away August 18, 1927. To this union were born seven children: Howard and Clifford, who died in infancy; Martha Pimlott, Ida Sutton, Almeda Woodruff, Evalina and Irving. There are eleven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. These and other relatives and many friends remain to mourn his death.
Although he had been in failing health for several months, yet his condition was not considered serious until last Thursday, when he had a stroke from which he did not regain consciousness.
Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. E.W.F. Holler in charge.
Pallbearers were R.J. Breckenridge, W.K. Karr, Frank Lineweaver, W.E. Butts, Chas. Chapman and John Henry. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
