Harold "Hap" Elias Pulsipher was born to Henry Elias & Emily Witmer Pulsipher on September 12, 1919 in Avon, Cache County, Utah. The seventh of nine children, in a home with parents that were deeply spiritual and hard working he learned many trades and skills.

Surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren Harold Elias Pulsipher age 79, passed away from a heart attack at Kaiser Hospital in Fresno, Fresno County, California on July 11th, 1998.

Harold is survived by two sisters, Anona Averett Cavner and Francis Smith, his wife Sarah, son Harold Joseph, and daughter Susan Emily, along with 4 grandchildren, Melody-Sue Fletcher Troche, Aura-Lee Fletcher Carmichael, C. Joshua Martin and G. Aaron Rogers. He also leaves behind 4 great-grandchildren, Jarod P Troche, David W Troche, Rob-Roy Troche and Cheyenne D Troche.

Hap met Sarah in the year of 1942 and they were married on the Santa Ana Army base in Santa Ana, Orange, California on January 4, 1943. Being in the service meant active duty in those days and he served in both Korea and Japan during World War II. Later, on the 23rd of January 1971 they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly called Mormons.

The happy couple moved around a bit in the early years after their daughter Susan was born December 10, 1943, living in Arizona, Utah, and California. After settling back in California, in Santa Ana, their son Harold Joseph "Joe" was born on May 20th, 1947.

As a musician who loved his gift, he served in the Army band while in the Army and had his own band that played gigs around the Orange County area until he left the service. He began teaching his son Joe the trumpet at the age of 6. Joe also became an accomplished musician at his father's guiding hand. Using his mechanics skills Hap worked in auto body shops and later for Warner Lambert.

Mr. Pulsipher was a devoutly religious man, honest and caring, who served as chorister for the Santa Ana Ward for many years, in the Orange Stake of the church. Later he served as a counselor in the Bishopric and various other callings throughout his life.

The couple moved from Santa Ana in 1992 when Hap's sister Ruth (Pulsipher) Lewis had decided to sell her place in Friant, Fresno County, California. She passed away just after making that decision. He enjoyed the quiet of the country life from then until his death.

There were extremely few who knew Hap who did not like him. His smile and clear blue eyes captured the hearts of everyone who knew him. He will truly be missed, but always be in the hearts of those who love him.
