According to the 1860 census, Isaac Cosby Cain was born about 1838 in Alabama. According to his widow's pension application, he married SUSANNA HOLLAND in 1858 in Franklin County, Alabama. One son was born during their marriage. He died as a young father on March 28, 1863, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, at the age of 25, and was buried there.
