Bessie McKinley Gilliland, age 90, of Vestavia Hills, died Thursday, December 13, 2001. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 15th, at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in downtown Birmingham. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Valley Chapel.
Mrs. Gilliland was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Gilliland, Sr. Mrs. Gilliland was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and the family suggests memorials be sent to the Lakeside Baptist Church New Life Singers. Services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel (205-879-3401) in Homewood.
