George W. (possibly George Washington McWilliams) was born in Georgia. More research is being done on where he was born and who his parents were. It appears they were Enoch & Martha McWilliams. If anyone has any verification of his parents or more background information, let me know.
He served in the Confederate Army in Co. A, 6th Mississippi Infantry. He enlisted on August 21, 1861, and was discharged on April 19, 1865. He was injured in the mouth during the war. He returned to Rankin County and became a farmer. He was married to Laura A. Quin on April 14, 1868, in Rankin County. Laura was the daughter of Irvin Moore Quin and Elizabeth Frances Perryman Quin. Known children of this marriage were:

Eugene Clifton McWilliams-October 11, 1873-1935
George Washington McWilliams-February 1876-unknown
Miles McWilliams-August 25, 1877-May 21, 1958
Laura died in February, 1879, but her burial location is unknown at this time.
He married Frances Chambers (married name from first marriage) on January 31, 1884. She was born August 1, 1856, and died February 25, 1925. Known children of this marriage were:
