BENNINGTON - Patricia M. Hodgeman, 71, died Dec. 10, 2009, at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center, following a brief illness.

She was born in Pittsfield, Mass., Sept. 13, 1938, the daughter of Daniel and Violet (Jelley) Stevens.

She received her education in Weston and was a graduate of Zion Bible Institute.

On Sept. 27, 1958, she married Byron S. "Judd" Hodgeman Jr. in East Providence, R.I.

Most recently, Mrs. Hodgeman was employed in the billing department of Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. In earlier years, she worked at Mount Anthony Union High School as a para-educator. She was a licensed minister for 40 years, and a missionary to the Navajo reservation in New Mexico.

She was a member of Green Mountain Christian Center in Bennington where she taught Bible studies and sang on their worship team.

Survivors include her husband of Bennington; her children, Michelle Jones, Dan Hodgeman, both of Petersburgh, N.Y., Jody Michaels of Lancaster, N.H., Cindy Cook of Stevenson, Wash., and Paul Hodgeman of Pownal; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Alexander of Orlando, Fla.; and five nieces.

She was predeceased by a son, Byron Hodgeman III, and a grandson.

The funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Green Mountain Christian Center on Main Street in Bennington where friends may call from 11 a.m. prior to the service.

Burial will take place in Jelley Cemetery in Petersburgh, N.Y.
