GENEVIVE MAE DARE
Peacefully after a lengthy illness on August 30, 1999 at Riverview Health Centre. Mompassed away at the age of 73. Mom was preceded by her husband David in 1967, her father Joe and her mother Elsie. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons and her grandchildren, Rick (Alice), Robert, Jodine (Steve) and Christopher, Ron (Jeannine), Crystal and Michael; Wayne (Denise), Brian, Kristin, Aidan, Devon and Morgan. Also her very special sisters, Bea (Dean) Fraser, Marj (Bill) Sykes, Marion (Ken) Marchant; her brother Gordon (Elsie) Wintermute; and many fine nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Kinderley, Saskatchewan and was raised in Prince Albert, Sask. Where she met and married David. They moved to Transcona in 1947, where they built their own home and settled in to raise their three boys. Agter Dad's sudden passing , Mon raised her three sons alone with great love and pride. During this time and until her retirement in 1997, she was employed as a cosmetician at Woolco for 27 years. Mom enjoyed avery special relationship with her sisters, Bea, Marj and Marion. They truly were best friends and a source of unending support for her althrough her life and illness. :The Girls" travelled together every year all over Canada and the United States. During these travels and at home, Mom persued her passion for the game of golf. She especially enjoyed golfing with her children and grandchildren, and the last game she played was with her sons and daughters-in-law at her side. Mom was a selfless and giving person amd her greatest joy was in her children and grandchildren, a trait she passed on to her children. The family would like to thank all of those who offered support this past while. A very soecial thank-you to Rick and Alice and Christopher for caring for Mom in their home these past months. We know Mom took great comfort being among her family during that time, Bless you. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 3 at 10:00 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street with Chaplain Paul Martin. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorials donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipege, MB, R3C 9Z9.
