He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Forces in WWII and was buried in Pacific View Memorial Park, Corona Del Mar, CA.
Hawkins, Ruth Amalie, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2009 in Newport Beach, CA at the age of 89. She was born in Fairbanks, AK on June 23, 1920 to Marie Skodack and Walter Adami. Ruth was married to the late James Hawkins for 58 years and is survived by her five children, Janice Turner (Clarence), Joyce Nyberg (Richard), Jamie Calhoun (John), Jill Welch (Richard), and George Hawkins (Mary); her nine grandchildren, Carissa Ashman, Tyler Stonebreaker (Kristina), Justin and Morgan Nyberg, Ryan (Brianne) and Jeremy (Adriana) Nelson, Hayden, Mary Elizabeth and Katherine Grace "CoCo" Hawkins; and one great-granddaughter, Riley Nelson. Graveside services will be at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona del Mar, CA, on Saturday, November 7 at 11:00 a.m.
