She was a kind, loving lady who valued humility and cherished her family. She had strict moral values, associated with the Victorian Era, which she diligently imparted to her six children. She was a devoted Southern Baptist who read the Bible daily.
She grew up in rural Breckinridge County, where she attended local schools and became a church organist. She married Hubert Miller on December 4, 1918, in Cannelton, Indiana. She and her husband were founding members of New Clover Creek Baptist Church.
A housewife, she was an accomplished seamstress who sewed fine quilts and made clothes for her family. She was also a good cook who canned fruits and vegetables.
