James Henry Lawson, age 78, of Elkhart, Texas died May 27, 2012. Burial at Pilgrim Cemetery was under the direction of Bailey & Foster. He was born January 19, 1934, in Anderson County to Jeremiah Timothy Lawson and Rachel Cross Lawson. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. Henry and Adell Richter were married on November 20, 1959, at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin. In 1963 Henry and Adell moved to Anderson County and lived outside of Elkhart. Henry worked for Parker Electric for 33 years, retiring in 1999. Adell and Henry were married for over 46 years prior to her death on January 24, 2006. Henry was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, baptized and confirmed there on May 9, 1976. During the years Henry served as an elder, property chairman and on the building committee in addition to helping Adell in many areas where she served. On July 5, 2009, Henry married Betty Cutler, whom he had known for years and with whom he shared a family relationship through his daughter's marriage to Betty's son. Survivors left to mourn Henry's earthly passing but rejoicing that he is with his Lord and Savior are his wife Betty; his children, Jeanie Gayle (Dennis) Cutler of Elkhart; Lana Bowden and Tim (Kelly) Lawson of Palestine; grandchildren, Racheal (Dustin) Shirey and James Bowden of Palestine; Jim Bob Cutler (Misty) of Grapeland; Kristen White of Mesquite; Colleen Lawson of Marshall; Kyle Lawson of Tyler; Caleb Lawson of Palestine; seven great-grandchildren; his sister, Lora Boren, as well as other family members and many friends. Henry was preceded in death by his wife Adell, his parents, sisters Cora Hamby, Linnie Lingo, Elendor Munsinger, Flora Thompson; and brothers Lee, Earnest, and Wesley Lawson.
