Viola Mayfield, 86 of Advance, died Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter, MO. She was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Lutesville, MO, daughter of Avery Rosewell and Sara E. Hahn Crites.
She and Charley Mayfield were married Nov. 29, 1943. He passed away Oct. 31, 1988.
Viola was a teacher with Advance School District.
She was of the Methodist belief.
Survivors include a son-in-law, Milton Andre of St. Peters, MO; a brother, John E. Crites of Cape Girardeau, MO; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a daughter, Charla Sue Andre; a brother, Avery Crites; and a sister, Cleo Long.
Visitation and funeral services will be Wednesday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO, with the Rev. Jim Hoyt officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park near Marble Hill.
