Confederate Colonel, grandfather of Gen. George S. Patton III Patton was Colonel of the 22nd Virginia Infantry. He was mortally wounded during the battle of Winchester, Virginia, and died a few days later. His brother Waller Tazewell Patton is buried in the same grave. Stonewall Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia, USA.
