According to the Death and Burial Records of the St. John's Lutheran Church, which have been published by the Perry Co. Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Soc. in New Lexington, OH in their "Perry County, Ohio, Moday Creek Township Cemeteries, Vol. 8, 1995": "Margaret Buchman, the oldest child of George Frederick Martzolff and wife, was born in Upper Bethsderf, County Sultz, Lower Alsace, France Aug. 21, 1821. She was baptized in infancy by Rev. Nagler. In 1834, she came to America. She was confirmed a member of the Lutheran Church in Somerset, Ohio by Rev. Chas. Henkle. On Christmas Day, 1839, she married George Buchman, with whom she lived fifty-two years. Twelve children were born to them of which three have gone to their eternal Home. On Tuesday morning, Dec. 19, 1893, she fell asleep in the Lord. The funeral services were held at St. John's on Dec. 21, by Rev. W.A. Weisman."
