A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Pelham United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Meeks was born in Danville, Va on September 26, 1937, a daughter of Lindsey Lester Hanks and Nancy Elizabeth Wall Hanks, both deceased. She was a member of Pelham United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She volunteered with the Pelham Volunteer Fire Department. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother, who had numerous cherished friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Meeks Barlow and husband, David of Hillsborough; her son, Roger Lynn Meeks of Pelham; her sisters, Faye Hanks McMillan and husband, Wayne of Martinsville, Va., and Myrtle Hanks Crutchfield and husband, Leonard of Ringgold, Va.; her brother, Douglas Hanks and wife, Molly of Ridgeway, Va; and by her grandchildren, Jessica Lynne Barlow and Caleb Cole Hughes Barlow. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Hunt Meeks, and by her brother, Buddy Hanks.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2pm on Saturday at Pelham United Methodist Church, prior to the service.
