In 1918, Edna Marie's mother, Lou Ella Billings passed away. Her daddy now had 3 children, 2, 4, and 6 years old to care for. On Jan. 1, 1920. William Anderson selected a step-mother for his young children.
In 1930 the family was living in Hamblen Co., Tennessee a rented house on a farm, and 14 year old Edna was going to school and her father was the minister at the Methodist Church. Edna now had a half-sister, Eunita Anderson, 6 years, and a half-brother, Donald D Anderson, 2 year old.
The Tennessee State Marriage records verified that June 27, 1936 was the day chosen for the wedding of Edna Marie Anderson and John Fredrick Parrott in Hawkins Co., Tennessee.
The 1940 census revealed that Edna and Fred had completed the eight grade of elementary school. The owned their house, valued at $500.00, and had lived at the same residence, in a rural area, between Grassy Volley And Lee Valley since their marriage. Fred was employed as a Farmer. A 27 year old male cousin, Turner Bettis, was working also as a farmer, and living with them.

Sept 24, 1999 was a very sad day, God called Edna's dear John Fredrick Parrott's spirit home. Edna gathered her family and friend around her at his grave side to bid he beloved husband farewell.
Edna lived on another seven years. On Dec. 12, 2006, the Lord called Edna's spirit home. Edna's body, rest beside her cherished husband, in the Creechs Chapel Cemetery.
