Despite what the tombstone claims, his death certificate identifies him as William Bitner Bailor, the son of Joseph & Catherine (Moore) Bailor. In 1860, he was a farmer living in Madison Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania, and stood 5' 4" tall with brown hair and hazel eyes.
A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Perrysville, Juniata County, August 23, 1864, mustered into federal service at Harrisburg September 2 as a private with Co. B, 202nd Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company August 3, 1865.
After the war, he married Mary E. unk. and fathered Mary Rebecca (b. @1868), Charles (b. @1870), Andrew (b. @1872), William (b. @1874), and Robert (b. @1876). Cause of death is listed as "apoplexy."
