Services for C. Ernest Butler, 81, of 4272 Henderson Place, Taunton, who died Saturday at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital after a long illness will be Tuesday at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Howlett Hill Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.

Mr. Butler was a life resident of the Syracuse area. A former employee of the New Process Gear Co., he retired as an accounts clerk for Carrier Corp. He was also a Navy veteran of World War I.

Surviving are his wife, the former Betty Mann, and several nieces and nephews.

Contributions may be made to the Taunton Fire Department.

Greenleaf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
