MRS. FRED HOPPE
Mrs. Fred Hoppe, 62, R. 1, Grafton, died Friday at Milwaukee Hospital following a short illness.
Active in community affairs, Mrs. Hoppe was a past president and at the time of her death treasurer, of the Port Washington American Legion Auxiliary.
She was president of the Port Washington Blood Bank, a member of St. Alphonsus Hospital Auxiliary, St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Society.
The former Theresa Meyer, she was born in the Town of Port Washington Oct. 7, 1899, the daughter of Peter and Anna Grotz Meyer, and was married at St. Mary's Church to Fred Hoppe May 9, 1922.
They lived on a farm along Highway 141 a short distance south of Port Washington.
Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Ethelyne) Schumacher, Overland Park, Kan., Mrs. Harold (Betty) Last, Port Washington, and Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Zausch, Town of Grafton; three sisters, Mrs. William Mayer and Mrs. Peter Stern, both of Grafton, and Mrs. Alex Roob, Sheboygan, and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Port Washington, at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Charles Loehr officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Poole Funeral Home, Port Washington, after 1 p.m. Sunday.
