Grandma Johnston, 61, wife of Laird L Johnston, died at a local hospital Sunday following a heart attack, she suffered Friday.
She was born Feb. 10, 1901 at Salem, Utah to James S. and Nellie Wilson Warner. Her family moved to Spanish Fork, and then to Arbon Valley, Idaho where she received he elementary education.
She was married to Harold Roe, June 23, 1920, and they were later divorced. She married Laird Johnston, July 23,1926 at Malad. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple July 12,1933. After their marriage they lived at Aberdeen before coming to Idaho Falls in 1942.
Vera was a stake missionary in the North Idaho Falls LDS Stake, and also active in the Relief Society for the Fourth LDS Ward.
Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: Evelyn (David) Park, Idaho Falls; Marie (Orvin) Nash of Aberdeen,; Betty (Elmer) Welch, of American Falls; Laird LeMoyne (Bobby) Johnston, Idaho Falls; Floretta (Dennis) Howell, Pocatello; her mother, Nellie Warner Weeks, Aberdeen; four brothers and three sisters, James L., Lorin S., Jennie Leyshon, Nellie Palmer all of Aberdeen; George T.,Mackay; Reva Nelson, Salmon; and Glenn, Payette.
Grandma I wish you would have been in my life longer.
