ELWOOD--Arthur Baker, 47, 1005 N. 18th St., Elwood, died at his home at 10 p.m. Wednesday. Born Aug 5, 1915 in Norwich, Conn, the son of Arthur O. and Nellie Baker. Oct 9 1946 he married Belva Niccum. He was employed at Johns Manville Corporation in Alexandria and was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include the widow, one daughter, Bethie Ann, at home; two brothers, Edward, Elwood and William of Gary; two sisters, Miss Esther Baker, Arizona, and Mrs Emma Rogers, Nashville, Tenn.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Copher and Fesler Funeral Home. The Rev John O'Brian will officiate. Burial will be in the Phlox Cemetery.
