Austrian stage and film actress, singer and cabaret performer. Starting in the theater in 1936, Hatheyer, who was born Heide Marie Pia Nechansky, had her first stage engagement at the Theater an der Wien with Zarah Leander in "Axel an der Himmelstür." Hatheyer appeared in more than 40 films over her long career, beginning in 1938. At the end of World War II, because of her appearance in a Nazi propaganda film earlier in the Nazi era (Ich klage an, 1941) , she did no film work in Germany but continued to appear on stage for a few years. She resumed her film career however in 1949, and went on to appear in Sauerbruch: Das war mein Leben, among others, and she married author Curt Riess in 1952. She received many accolades and awards late in her career, and continued to act, mostly in television, until the year of her death.∼Actress.
