Lloyd G. Good, 90, of Burlington died at 9:26 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at his home.
Born October 19, 1921 in Carman, Illinois, he was the son of Peter and Mabel Schick Good. On June 22, 1947 he married Helen L. Crago at the Harrison Ave. Methodist Church in Burlington.
Mr. Good was a 1939 Stronghurst High School graduate and an Army veteran serving in Europe for three years during World War II, serving at the rank of sergeant in the Mechanical Division.
Mr. Good worked as a welder in Stronghurst for a short time before working for the U.S. Postal Railroad Service for 35 years. In his retirement he drove a school bus for Notre Dame Schools for 10 years.
Mr. Good was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men and served on various church committees and a member of National Post Office Association. He enjoyed carpentry, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Helen L. Good of Burlington; one son, Phillip L. (Natalie) Good of Burlington; one granddaughter, Thea Rose Good of Burlington and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dr. Mary Ann Good; his parents; one sister; and three brothers, including his brother Levi who was lost in World War II. Interment will be in Carman Cemetery.
