Mrs. Pauline James Baker Legard, age 92, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2008 in the Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, Tennessee. She was a well known Abingdon resident and had made her home at The Grand Court in Bristol, Virginia. She was born in Johnson City, Tennessee the daughter of the late William Henry Prescott Baker and Alta Mae Long Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Fewell Legard, Sr, one brother, William G. Baker and two sisters, Elizabeth Baker Grant and Margaret Baker Beattie. She was a School Teacher who taught in this area for numerous years and touched the lives of many of her students. She was a member of the Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church. Both Pauline and her husband, Fewell have been involved with the William King Regional Art Center and it has always held a special place in their hearts. The family will continue to support the William King Regional Arts Center and the memory of both Fewell and Pauline will live on through the Center. She is survived by her son, Funeral Services for Mrs. Pauline James Baker Legard will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Luther Roberts officiating. Private interment will follow in the Knollkreg Memorial Park
