S/O Bert and Esther (Stanley) Ellingson, Bert enlisted in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and served until 1963. He was a fighter pilot. He was awarded the Silver Star, Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Distinguished Service Medal, Air Medal with 6 Oak Leaf Clusters, Distinguished Flying Cross with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Commendation Medal and the Military Force Humane Action Medal. He served as a South Dakota House of Representatives 1969 to 1980. Bert was preceded in death by his parents, wife and other family members. Survived by children: Robert, Faye and Linda; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
