Mrs. C. De Boer, mother of seven, died July 27 at 79
Funeral services were held at the home at 1 o'clock last Wednesday, July 30, and at the First Reformed church in Hull at 2 p.m., for Mrs. Charles De Boer. Death came to Mrs. De Boer at her home on Sunday morning, July 27. She had been ill and bedfast since January.
Johanna Hofmeyer De Boer was born on a farm near Alton onOctober 3, 1878, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Hofmeyer. On June 3, 1897, she was married to Charles De Boer.
To this union seven children were born: Dowie of Hull, Gerrit of Adrian, Minn., August of Luverne, Minn., Gilbert of Coulter, la., Ellen (Mrs. G.) De Leeuw of Mull, Bernice (Mrs. A.) Vande Griend of Hull and Clarence of Hull.
She was left to raise her family alone after the death of her husband on March 20, 1918.
Mrs. De Boer is survived by her seven children, sixteen grandchildren, three brothers, Gerrit, Henry and John Hofmeyer, all of Orange City, and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. De Boer lived on a farm near Hull her entire life until 1946 when she left her farm homestead to make her home in Hull.
She was a member of theFirst Reformed church of Hull; a quiet, conscientious, Christian mother faithful to her teachings of her Lord.
