The Lord called our beloved sister and Aunt Elaine home Wednesday, May 16, 2012 with her family by her side at the Toni and Trish House, age 81. She was born November 25, 1930 in Bay City to the late Joseph and Josephine (Grzegorczyk) Dominowski. Elaine received her Master's Degree from Columbia University, New York in nursing. She was a Colonel in the US Air Force and retired in 1982. Elaine served her country in Vietnam and during the Korean Conflict, where she earned several medals of Honor including the Bronze Star. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Rosary/Altar Sodality Group #10, Felician Sisters Auxiliary, Senior Citizens, the League of Catholic Men & Women and the Military Officers of America. She was also a former member of the PLAV Chapter #162 and enjoyed reading, golf and try her luck at the casinos.

Surviving is her brother, Gerald Dominowski, one sister, Jackie Christiansen, sister in-law, Dolores Dominowski, nieces and caregivers, Terrie (Daniel) DeWaele, Madeline "Cookie" Glaza, many other nieces and nephews. Elaine was predeceased by three sisters: Romaine Dominowski, Gladys Jasinski and Marie Andrzejewski and four brothers: Albin, Adam, Sylvester and Pat Dominowski.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 21, 2012 at 10:00am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Fr. Rick Filary will celebrate Mass. Military Honors and inurnment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the church only on Monday from 9:00am until the time of Mass. Members of St. Stan's Rosary Sodality and Parish will a pray a Rosary for Elaine at church Monday at 9:00am. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Stanislaus Campus Development Fund.
