Sutton resident Lonnie Lee Overturf, 49, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at his home in Sutton, NE. Lonnie was born June 4, 1962, in Hastings, NE to Leo and Sandra (Elfring) Overturf.

Lonnie graduated from Sutton Public School in 1980. On July 21, 1984, he married Darlene Hofmann at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Sutton, NE. He worked for Hofmann Construction, Cyclonaire, George Brothers and was currently the feed mill Manager at CPI in Sutton.

Lonnie was a longtime former member of the Sutton Volunteer Fire Department and a lifetime member of the Emmanuel Reformed Church. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed anything that related to sports. He especially enjoyed coaching baseball/softball, golfing, hunting with his dog Abby, fantasy football, and watching the Kansas City Royals.

Lonnie is survived by: wife, Darlene Overturf of Sutton, NE; son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Leah Overturf of Grand Island, NE; daughter, Heather Overturf of Sutton, NE; parents, Leo and Sandra Overturf of Sutton, NE; brother, Monte Overturf of Sutton, NE; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Charlene Overturf of Sutton, NE; Matt and Lori Overturf of Johnson, KS; grandmother, Esther Elfring of York, NE; father-in-law, Ruben Hofmann of Sutton, NE. and a host of relatives and friends.

Lonnie was preceded in death by: grandparents, Harry and Nellie Overturf; grandfather, Larry Elfring; mother-in-law, Marie Hofmann.

Interment was in the Sutton Cemetery, Sutton, NE.
