The rosary will be at 8pm Monday at the Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem and the scripture service will be at 8pm Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was born June 12, 1919 at Salem to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gapp and died April 1 at Sioux Falls hospital after being ill for several months. On November 30, 1935 she married Francis Hershley at Sioux Falls. She had been a nursing aid at a Sioux Falls hospital and at Colonial Manors in Salem.
Survivors include her widower; one daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Sandra) Lukes, Maryville, Calif.; four sons, Capt. F.G., with the Marine Corps stationed at Norfolk, Va.; Alan, Norfolk, Neb.; John, Sioux Falls, and Gary. LeCenter, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. William Janish, Salem, and two brothers, Roy Gapp, Salem, and Earl Gapp, Tucson, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
