HAMPTON - Nannie "Nan" Evelyn Price Hoffler, 90, passed away at the Coliseum Park Nursing Home on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003.
A native of Hampton, she previously lived in Elizabeth City, N.C., Norfolk and Portsmouth, Va. She worked as a housemother at the Virginia Baptist Home in Newport News.
She was recently a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Hampton, but was also a member of Azalea Baptist Church in Norfolk, and Alexander Baptist Church in Portsmouth where she was recently recognized for 40 years of service to the children's nursery.
Mrs. Hoffler was preceded in death by a son, Richard, a Marine in Vietnam, and a daughter, Dorothy Branch, a resident of Portsmouth.
Survivors include sons, Don Hoffler of Beach Haven, N.J., James Hoffler of Norfolk and Pastor Charles Hoffler of Roanoke, Va.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, James and John Price of Newport News, and sister, Jane Turner of Newport News; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home on North Armistead Ave., Hampton. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Liberty Baptist Church by Pastor Michael Ray. Burial will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alexander Baptist Church Building Fund to be used for the church nursery.
Arrangements are under the care of Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton.
