Elizabeth was a daughter of James Parke Farley, of Antigua, by his wife Elizabeth, daughter of William Byrd, 3rd. of Westover, VA. Her first husband - John Banister, Jr. of Virginia - died soon after their marriage, leaving one child, John Farley Banister, who was buried in St. Peter's yard, June 8th 1793. Mrs. Banister married 2ndly at "Nesting," March 10, 1791, Thomas Lee Shippen, of Philadelphia, only surviving son of Dr. William Shippen Jr., by his wife Alice, daughter of the Hon. Thomas Lee, of Virginia. By her second husband who died near Charleston, S.C., Feb 4, 1798, she had two sons, of whom the younger, Thomas Lee Shippen, was buried at St. Peter's August 27, 1810, aged 17 years, and the elder lies in his family vault at "Farley" Bensalem township, Bucks Co., Penna
She married 3rdly, in this city, by the Rev. Dr. Blackwell, June 8th 1803, George Izard, son of Ralph Izard, of S.C., by his wife Alice, daughter of Peter de Lancey, of NY, born 1777, Major General USA, 1814 Governor of Arkansas Territory from 1825 till his death at Little Rock Nov. 22, 1828
