Richard Henry Worthington was born April 16, 1858, in Llanidloes, Wales. He was the first-born of the second marriage of Richard (B: 1814-1819-D: 1891). His Father‘s first marriage to Jane Jones occurred on July 15, 1846, and is listed in the parish register of Machynlleth in the County of Montgomery. He married G-Richard Henry's Mother, Mary Morgan, on July 2?,1859, in the Llanidloes Parish Church in the County of Montgomery (Montgomeryshire?).

G-Richard Henry immigrated to the United States in 1878 and was granted citizenship in 1888. He married twice and had 12 children, possibly 13. He worked in the steel industry in Ohio and Johnstown until his death in 1926.

Wife of Deceased Critically Ill of Paralysis at Mercy Hospital Richard Henry Worthington of 184 Chandler Avenue,
Morrellsville, died of pneumonia at his home at an early hour this morning (Death certificate states February 4, 1926, 4:30 AM). His wife (Frederica Rachel Nitch-Worthington) was stricken with paralysis on January 3 had has since been in a precarious condition at Mercy Hospital. Mr. Worthington was in his 67th year. He had been a resident of this city for many years. Mr. Worthington is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rachel (Nitsch) Worthington and the following children: Mary Elizabeth "Mame" (Mrs. Daniel Francis)Sullivan of Pittsburgh: Richard John Worthington, of Mineral Point: Florence Rose Mayock (Mrs. Joseph Francis) of Scranton: Helen Elders (Mrs. Arthur), Edward Thomas, Peter Michael, James Evan, Catherine J. and William Francis, all at home. Two sisters, Jane Powell(Mrs. Evan David) and Ann Evans (Mrs. Thomas Edward), both of Westmont, and brothers, John of Buffalo, Edward and Thomas of Wales also survive. It is likely the funeral will take place on Sunday afternoon with internment in Grandview Cemetery (February 7, 1926).

Preceding him in death were his parents Richard and Mary Morgan Worthington, and half siblings Mary Ann Worthington-Jarman, Richard and Edward. His father's first wife Jane Jones died in 1851.

Also preceding him in death were his children Mary Jane, Irene, and Richard. Mary Ann Howells-Worthington,his first wife, and these children perished in the 1889 Johnstown Flood. Their child William died in 1885.
