DIED-- Mary J. Palmer wife of Robert S. Palmer died at her home in this city (Lakin, Ks) Friday morning Aug. 30, 1895. Mrs. Palmer was born in Clark Co., Kentucky Dec 30, 1855 and moved to Kearny Co., Ks in 1885, she was married to Robert S. Palmer in June 1880 and was the mother of 3 children, Anna, Charlie and Frank who with the husband still survive her. Mrs. Palmer was taken sick upon their farm north of this place some 2 months ago and was brought here that she might receive closer medical attention, the immediate cause of her death was fever. The deceased was a christian having united with the church of her choice at an early age; and she lived an earnest devoted christian life. She was an estimable lady loved by all who knew her. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. Slater and daughter, and the remains were interred at the Lakin cemetery. Mr. Palmer and children have the smypathy of the entire community in thier loss.
