| Birth: | Sep. 20, 1968 | | Death: | Jun. 27, 2004 |  NHRA Dragster Driver. A four time NHRA Federal-Mogul Division Four champion, 1994, 1996, 1998, 1999 and had 20 divisional event wins. He recorded seven Federal-Mogul class national victories, including the 1997 U.S. Nationals. He made his NHRA Top Fuel debut in 2001 and became the third driver in NHRA history to win in his first professional start. During his four year career he had earned six victories in 17 final rounds. He posted a career best fourth place points finish in 2003 and was currently fourth in the Top Fuel points standings. He was fatally injured as a result of a crash during race eliminations at the Sears Craftsman NHRA Nationals Event at Gateway International Raceway, in Madison, Illinois. His dragster came apart while running about 300 mph at the end of the quarter-mile strip. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
