George W. Beals, 95, died yesterday at the home of a son, Roy E. Beals, Meyersdale RD 1. Prior to retiring, Mr. Beals was employed as a coal miner and merchant in the Salisbury area. A native of Bedford County, Pa., he was born Dec. 31, 1858, and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. George P. Beals. Surviving are four sons: Roy E. Beals, with whom he resided; William Beals, Grantsville; John H. Beals, Meyersdale RD 1; James E. Beals, Akron, Ohio. Four daughters, Mrs. C.J. Rhodes, Canton, Ohio; Mrs. Margaret Staub, Meyersdale RD 1; Mrs. Elmer Shawley, Bittinger; Mrs. Harry Byrnes, Marklesburg, Pa. The body is at the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, Pa., where a service will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Clarence E. Whetstone, pastor of St. Paul's Reformed Church, officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
