They had a son Edward Joseph Purtell and daughter Katherine/Kate* L.(Mrs. James Murphy).
John lived in Lambertville for many years, employed at the Coalport Yards, and worked for Pennsylvania Railroad for 55 years.
(Note: Sarah was born abt 1854 Pennsylvania and died before 1910, John is widowed on 1910 census.)
*Katherine married James Murphy, June 23, 1922 Trenton, St.Joseph's Church.
Son Edward Joseph b 1883 Penna married Ella R. Good.
According to his obituary in Trenton Times, funeral was held from residence of Mr. William Reichert, and among others attending were members of Coalport Engine House and Volunteer Fire Dept. of Lambertville.
Survived by daughter and son, 2 sisters (Mary)Mrs. James Meehan and Miss Nora Purtell, brother Thomas Purtell.
Nora appears on 1930 census residing with brother Thomas Lambertville, both single.
