Much Esteemed Woman Dies Af-
ter Long Illness.

Mrs. Sarah E. West died Thursday, at her home about six miles East of the city. She had been ill a year or more and was a great sufferer. Deceased was the widow of the late Henry M. West, and is survived by seven children—Mr. James West and Dr. P. E. West, of this city, and R. C. and Hugh West, and Mrs. W. A. Layne and Mrs. John McCarley.
She was 66 years old and a member of the Methodist church.
Funeral services were conducted by Dr. K. L. Southgate at the Methodist church Friday and the interment took place in Hopewell cemetery.
