Clyde, Tx. - Cable N. Neff, age 35, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012, at Hendrick Medical Center. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 10, 2012, in the Chapel of Parker Funeral Home in Baird, Texas, with Bishop Bill Beckham officiating. Interment will follow at the Dothan Cemetery in Eastland County. Parker Funeral Home of Baird is in charge of arrangements. A visitation will take place from 5:30 until 7:00 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Cable was born June 4, 1976, in Cedar City, Utah. He graduated from VoTech High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, and moved to Baird, Texas, in 1996. Misty Dawn Sublett has been his loving wife since 1999, and they had lived in the Clyde area the past 3 ½ years.
At the time of his death, Cable was working as an oil field driller for Union Drilling, Inc., of Abilene, Texas, where he had worked for the past 7 years. He was certified in many fields in the oil industry, had worked on diesel engines, and also was a journeyman carpenter in Abilene in previous years.
Cable was a member of the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was known as a loving and caring man who would stop at any time to help anyone, whether he knew them or not. He had a strong, even driven, work ethic, and was admired by his friends and co-workers. Perhaps the most important thing about Cable was his special relationship with his family and friends. Being a good, loving Daddy to his 3 girls, Cable loved playing softball with them.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Misty Dawn Neff of Clyde, Texas; his daughters, Jasmine Dawn, Baylee Starr, and Britney Rainbow Neff, all of the home in Clyde; his son, Joshua Brian Neff of Mather, California; his mother, Linda Chandler of Baird, Texas; his father, David Burford and wife Cindy, of Putnam, Texas; his sister, Carian Johnson of Clyde, Texas; 3 brothers, Cameron Neff and wife Corina of Midland, Texas; Casey Burford of Midland, Texas; and Carter Burford and wife Ellen of Granite City, Illinois; grandparents, John and Dorothy Garrett of Oregon, and Barbara and Tom Hood of Montana; his great-grandmother, Cora Large of Ohio; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and 11 nieces and nephews. Also special to Cable was his extended family, including his mother-in-law Roxie and David Whitt, his father-in-law Andy and Lisa Sublett, and 3 sisters-in-law, Jennifer, Kimberly and Shawna.
