Mrs. Opal Ruby Ambrose, 82, Raytown, formerly of Iberia, died Monday, September 18, at Menorah Medical Center, Kansas City (Kansas). Mrs. Ambrose was born February 14, 1896, near Brumley, a daughter of Clifton and Molly Hendricks Phillips. She was married in 1912, at Tuscumbia to Clayton E. "Sam" Ambrose, who died January 29, 1961.
Mrs. Ambrose was a member of the Church of Christ and had lived in the Iberia area until 1976, when she moved to the state of Arizona and then to the Kansas City area.
Survivors include: two sons, Roy Ambrose, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Doral Ambrose, Mohave Valley, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Weinel, Raytown; two sisters, Miss Alta Phillips, Stoutland and Mrs. Verna Hammer, Montreal; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 21, at the Stevinson Funeral Home Chapel, Iberia, with Brother Jack Duncan officiating. Burial was in the Iberia Cemetery.
