Daniel Hayden was the son of William Hayden and his first wife. He was born in the old Plymouth colony trading house at Windsor.
When William and his second wife, MARGARET (WILCOXSON)BIRDSEYE HAYDEN, my ancestor, removed to Killingworth, Daniel remained in Windsor and worked on the family property (called Hayden's) in the stone quarry which supplied Winsor with tombstones.
Daniel served in King Philip's war in 1675, was commissioned as Lieutenant of the Windsor Train Band in 1697 and of the Troop of Horse in 1698.
He married his step-sister, Hannah Birdseye, daughter of my ancestors and his step mother, WILLIAM & MARGARET (WILCOXSON) BIRDSEY.
He distributed his land to his four sons around 1707.
