Edith M. "Tootie" Fiscus, 86, of Cowansville, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at Kittanning Care Center. She was born April 26, 1926, in Reesdale, a daughter of the late Hollis Johns and Martha (Stuchell) Johns. A homemaker, Edith previously worked at Schenley Distillery and answered phones for Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Cowansville. She was a member of Union First Presbyterian Church in Cowansville, where she was a deaconess and taught Sunday school, and a member of the Golden Links and Cowansville American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed bingo, word search books, embroidering and quilting. Edith is survived by her sons, Raymond R. (Sally) Fiscus Sr., of Reesdale, and Keith A. (Julie) Fiscus, of Kittanning; five grandchildren, Raymond R. (Michelle) Fiscus Jr., Wendy M. (Ron) Dight, Matthew C. (Faye) Best, Adam K. Fiscus and Alex P. Fiscus; eight great-grandchildren, Kiki Best, Matthew Best, Joseph Wolfe, Hunter Fiscus, Riley Fiscus, Marley Fiscus, Lexie Fiscus and Ronny Dight; sisters, Laura Wolfe, Rose (Finley) George and Sue (Don) Lasher; brother-in-law, William Atwood Sr.; sisters-in-law, Shirley Moore and Jean Johns; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Fiscus; son, Larry Joseph Fiscus; daughter, Eleanor Best; granddaughter, Melissa Wolfe; two brothers, Raymond "Bud" Johns and Edward Johns; sister, Ethel Atwood; brother-in-law, Kenneth Wolfe; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Johns. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME in Cowansville. Additional visitation will be held from 10 until the time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday in Union First Presbyterian Church, Cowansville, with the Rev. Mary Marks-King and Pastor Donald Breghenti officiating. Interment at Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
