Alton Evening Telegraph, Alton, IL, June 8, 1925:

Former city engineer of Alton. Moved to New Orleans to be near his daughter. His body was brought back to Alton for burial. Services were held in the Grandview Mausoleum.
He was the son of Major George H. Long, a US Army Engineer. His Uncle was Col.Stephen Long, who was prominent man and explorer in the West, and discovered Long's Peak.
His wife preceded him in death about two years ago.
A daughter, Mrs. Winifred Fowler of Chicago, and a granddaughter, Doris Pulliam were mentioned.
