EMPORIA, Kan. - Services for Iva Estelle DiGiovanni, 56, Emporia, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Church of the Nazarene, Jon Fillipi officiating. Burial follows in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.
Ms. DiGiovanni died Dec. 31, 1994, at a Topeka, Kan. hospital. She was born May 12, 1938, in Ada, Okla., to Jesse and Myrtle Fortenberry Newton. She formerly owned and operated the S. & S. Cafe for five years before her retirement in 1989. She was also a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Emporia.
On Oct. 1, 1973, she married Joseph L. DiGiovanni in Oklahoma City.
Survivors include three daughters, Eugenia "Jeanie" Dent, Tonganoxie, Kan., Melissa Swinhart, St. Louis, Mo., Frances Coble, Emporia; two stepchildren, Anna Cousins and Joseph L. DiGiovanni Jr., both of Chalmetter, La.; three sisters, Virginia Stonecipher and Lela Johnson, both of Ada, Patsy Suddock, Emporia; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Jean McGee.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of the Nazarene in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.
