CHARLES A GILLHAM DIES SUDDENLY

Charles A Gillham of New York a former Mattoon resident died suddenly Friday at his home in New York, following a paralytic stroke.
Brief services will be conducted from Riverside Church in New York, after which the body will be shipped to Bloomington, Ind., for final services at the home of Mrs Maude Hughes Woolery. Burial will be in Bloomington cemetery.
Mr Gillham was 62 years old, a native of Sullivan. He spent most of his early manhood in Mattoon. He had been living in New York the past 20 years, where he held the position as vice president and general manager of the New York Steam Company.
About 40 years ago he married Miss Elsa Mason of Bloomington, Ind. She and a daughter, Miss Elsa Carolynm, at home, and his mother, Mrs Delia Gillham of Mattoon, survive. His sister, Mrs B D Parrish died here two weeks ago, and he was here to attend the funeral.
Mr Gillham left Mattoon 40 or more years ago. Prior to that he was employed for some time in a clerical capacity at the Bower & Schulhoff store.
