Glenn Daniel Van Schoonhoven owned a sugar plantation in Havana, Cuba. He and Ana married in Cuba on October 6, 1913. They were both residing in Manacas at the time. They had three sons, all born in Cuba: Chiro Robert (born 18 Jun 1914, Manacas, Santa Clara Provence, Cuba), George Palmer (born 14 Sep 1916, Manacas, Santa Clara Provence, Cuba), and Glenn Charles (born 11 Dec 1918, Havana, Cuba). Glenn Sr. became ill and died in Cuba on December 24, 1919. Ana then married Glenn's brother, Charles Lynn "Lynn" (born 27 Nov 1891 in Nelson, Minnesota), but she had the marriage annulled after learning that he was still married to his first wife. However, he was able to gain control over all of her property. She eventually left Cuba with the help of her sisters, Katharine and Madolin, and returned to New York.
She eventually moved to near Buffalo/Syracuse and married Walter Emmert in 1942. They had a farmhouse in Johnsonburg, New York, where large family reunions took place. Walter died in 1972.
Ana died in a nursing home one month shy of her 90th birthday.
