1929 Obituary Richfield, Utah
Old Richfield Resident is Laid to Final Rest
Impressive funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Third ward chapel for Mrs Ida M Nielsen, who passed away at her home here Tuesday night of last week. Bishop H J Hansen officiated. A W Rowley offered the invocation. Selections by the Third ward's double mixed quartet and a duet by Mrs Roy Christensen and Mrs Reginald Peterson comprised the musical numbers. Words of esteem for the bereaved and of consolation for her surviving family were spoken by G W Coons, Bishop John Dastrup of Sigurd and Bishop Hansen. P C Peterson pronounced the benediction. Many beautiful floral tributes gave expression to the esteem of relatives and friends.

Interment took place in the city cemetery. Bishop Hansen dedicated the grave.
Pallbearers were Glen, Marion, Lloyd, Lamar, Adrian and Henry Jensen.

Mrs Nielsen was a native of Denmark. In 1868, at the age of three years she came to Utah with her parents, Mr and Mrs Rasmus Jensen. The family made Parowan their home until she was fourteen years of age, when they moved to Richfield, where she has since resided. At the age of eighteen years she was married to Frederick Alma Nielsen, who preceded her in death a number of years.

Of their thirteen children, the following survive: Mrs M J [Elnora Christine] Duran, Leovell, Fleet, Neil and Rulon Nielson and Mrs Earl [Happy June] Anderson all of Richfield; Fred Nielson of Sigurd and Mrs Reed [Elva M] Peterson of Redmond.

Recently Mrs Nielsen suffered with sugar diabetes, for which she received treatment in a hospital last spring, but complications arising from it lead to her last illness. She was bedfast about month before she died. An infant born to Mr and Mrs Leovell Nielson passed away Tuesday, within the same hour, and was buried Wednesday.
