CARLSBAD--Adan Ruiz Lujan, 73 of Loving, died Wednesday, March 6, 1996, at Columbia Guadalupe Medical Center.
A Christian wake will be at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Dominic Manion officiating. Burial will be at Loving Cemetery.
Arrangements are by West Funeral Home Inc.
He was born Oct. 7, 1922, in Malaga to Cecilio and Cecelia Ruiz Lujan. He attended Malaga schools.
In 1943, he and Carmen Mendoza married. In 1946, they moved to Loving.
For many years, he worked for the Pardue Farms. In 1960, he bought his own farm and worked it until he sold it in 1982.
Mr. Lujan was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Lujan, in October 1966.
Survivors include his wife of Loving; sons, Gilbert M. Lujan and Sam Lujan, both of Lovington, Abel M. Lujan of Austin, Texas, Mike Lujan and Adan Lujan Jr., both of Loving, and Gary Lujan of Carlsbad; daughters Delia Alvarez of Carlsbad, Lorina L. Alicea and Sandra M. Lujan, both of Loving, Arselia L. Ramirez of Lovington, Margie L. Madrid of Hobbs and Thelma M. Lujan of Bartlesville, Okla.; his step-mother, Paula B. Lujan of Visalia, Calif.; brothers, Fernando B. Lujan and Leonardo B. Lujan, both of Phoenix, Antonio B. Lujan of Carlsbad, Cecilio B. Lujan of Hobbs, and Roberto B. Lujan of Visalia; sisters, Epifania L. Tercero of Goshen, Calif., Estanislada L. Hernandez of Visalia, Calif., and Martina L. Molinar and Gloria L. Hernandez, both of Carlsbad; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
